ACCESSORY DWELLING UNITS
In Atlanta and many other cities around the country, demand for housing is outpacing the supply - especially for those making minimum wage. Accessory Dwelling Units (or ADUs for short) are small, detached living structures located behind a primary residence on a residential lot. As such, ADUs can increase housing supply in a neighborhood without negatively affecting the neighborhood’s scale and character.
In 2017, KUA helped start the ATL ADU Co. to design, build, and deliver ADUs on in-town properties across Atlanta, GA. Examples of these units can be seen in the Reynoldstown and Inman Park neighborhoods. We whole-heartedly believe that ADUs are a key element in the housing choice and affordable housing conversation, and we continue to refine our ADU designs and seek opportunities to incorporate them wherever possible.
